Education Project: Brayden Community School

Transforming a Small Dream into a Growing School

Brayden Community School
P.O. Box 303, Kampala, Massajja, Uganda

Education is one of the most effective ways to break the cycle of poverty. At Basics Aids Organization, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn in a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment.

Our journey with Brayden Community School began during the construction of the Community Sage Deliverance Power Church in Charles City, Massajja. While searching for a source of clean drinking water, our team met a young teacher named Brian Mutebi, whose dedication to educating vulnerable children would inspire one of our most meaningful partnerships.

A Small School with a Big Dream

Brian Mutebi was teaching children in a very small, unfinished building with no doors, no windows, and no toilet facilities. Four classes shared a single overcrowded room, yet despite these extremely difficult conditions, he continued teaching because he believed every child deserved an education.

The members of Basics Aids Organization were deeply moved by his commitment. We saw not only the challenges but also the determination to give children hope through education.

After learning more about his vision, Basics Aids Organization decided to partner with him to improve the learning environment.

Building a Better Future

Working together, we supported the construction of a proper school building for the children.

When Brian realized that the organization was truly committed to helping him, he was overwhelmed with gratitude. What had once seemed impossible was becoming a reality.

Today, Brayden Community School is a registered school serving a growing number of children from the surrounding community.

Our Continued Support

Our partnership with Brayden Community School continues beyond the construction of the buildings.

Basics Aids Organization provides ongoing support through:

  • Educational support for vulnerable children.
  • Writing materials and classroom supplies.
  • School feeding assistance.
  • Healthcare support through Basic Medical Centre.
  • Community guidance and partnership.

Our goal is not only to help children attend school but also to ensure they learn in a healthy, supportive environment.

Current Needs

As the number of pupils continues to grow, the school now faces new challenges.

Priority needs include:

  • Construction of additional classrooms.
  • Expansion of school facilities.
  • Installation of a borehole to provide clean and safe drinking water.
  • Construction of a safe bridge so children can cross the nearby trench safely during the rainy season.
  • More desks, books, and learning materials.
  • Strengthening the school feeding program.

Meeting these needs will improve children’s safety, health, and educational opportunities.

A Community Partnership

Brayden Community School is not operated for profit by Basics Aids Organization. Our role has been to support a community-led vision that provides education for vulnerable children.

We continue to stand alongside the school because we believe that investing in children today creates stronger communities tomorrow.

Our Vision for the Future

Together with the school leadership and the local community, Basics Aids Organization is committed to helping Brayden Community School continue to grow.

With additional partnerships and support, we hope to:

  • Expand classrooms.
  • Improve access to clean water.
  • Build a safe bridge for children.
  • Strengthen school feeding.
  • Improve learning resources.
  • Ensure that more vulnerable children can access quality education.

Every child deserves the chance to learn, dream, and build a brighter future.
